The guys were nice enough, but they didn't do the initial job well and were very questionable about the bid they submitted.
At first, they tried to snake a slow draining shower/bathtub. That didn't unclog it. They proceeded to tell me my cast iron T drain to the sewer needed to be replaced for $1,800. They gave me a picture of the drain feom under the house and didn't charge me for trying to unclog it, which I thought was nice.
I was in shock, so I booked two other plumbers to give me bids for what they said was the problem. The first company offered to snake the drain again but were trying to charge me $341 for a snake.
The second plumber's bid was similar, but his pictures also showed much more of the underneath of the tub in question. There was an AWS sewer bypass one foot next to the T drain they neglected to tell me about. Instead, they led me to believe we needed to dig underneath to get to the main, cast iron sewer pipe beneath the house from within a small crawl space. This infuriated me.
I had called a random female-owned plumber who gave me info to a drain specialist in my area. I immediately called the other plumber, and within one minute, I knew these plumbers were on it.
They ended up coming out, talking to me like a customer, and not mansplaining what I needed to pay them to do, and then doing it for a reasonable price. They snaked it properly, fixed the clog, explained that I would probably need to replace them soon, be very careful of hair, but they didn't need to be replaced now, and definitely not for those ridiculous prices.
I also found out from the tenant that after Elite guys snaked the line, the draining got 80% worse. To me, that doesn't come close to needing new pipes as the primary cause. It means you need to learn how to snake a pipe properly.
These guys that poorly represented Elite were typical condescending pushy sales guys that even proved potentially unethical. I hope they look into who they have working for them, and I certainly hope they weren't owners or managerial. I reported this to a customer care representative who followed up, so it seems like they do care about quality. I'd keep a close eye on these guys and get second opinions.
PHOTOS: Note that the close-up view was from Elite. It didn't show the larger AWS bypass pipe, while the second one from the second company did.
