Kerry M. says, "As someone who has struggled with keeping a consistent schedule for practicing guitar, the skills, songs, and encouragement Jaime provides in his lessons sets you up to effectively practice and advance your guitar playing. I started out not even knowing how to play guitar with a pick, and now I can play several songs in full! He is a wonderful teacher for all skill levels. His feedback is always very helpful, clear, and precise. His lessons are also very structured: he first goes through warmups with you, then teaches you a song of your choice or according to your music taste, as well as revisiting songs you have already learned and enhancing your ability to play them. He is very accomodating and flexible with scheduling classes, as well as very patient and understanding. I have been taking classes with him for about a year now, and I have improved tremendously in such a short amount of time. I couldn’t have gotten to the level I am at now without him. Siena M. My daughter has been taking lessons from Jaime for the past year now, and she has made significant progress in that time. Professionalism: Tristan is a prompt communicator who listened attentively to our ideas. Not only did he learn the initial music we had in mind, but he also researched similar music at our request and made suggestions that led to an even more beautiful final piece for our wedding ceremony. He collaborated seamlessly with the other musician we hired, and even though they didn't know each other it sounded as if they'd been performing together for years! He communicated clearly and promptly with our DJ, who has since reached out to tell us he would like to work with Tristan again (and we see why!). Attitude and energy: Tristan is an upbeat, gentle and kind young man with a positive approach to problem-solving. We had a few technical concerns and last-minute tech hiccups on the day of our wedding, and Tristan rolled with the punches so that no one could tell. The product (that music!): Tristan's guitar-playing skills are exquisite. His attention to detail shines most in his music; even in a large outdoor space, he played with intricate finger work and dynamics that made his songs float through the space. I decided to give guitar lessons another try after being self taught and feeling very limited in what I’d been able to teach myself, which is, admittedly… not a whole lot. I have to say, Mike is an absolute joy to work with and a wonderful teacher. I’m only on my 3rd lesson, but I can see clear improvement with my playing and I feel like I’ve learned so much already (and its not overwhelming, its just fun). My lessons with him have quickly become the highlight of my week and I find myself truly looking forward to my next lessons. I’ve tried a few teachers in the past but they never really seemed to understand I wanted to learn my instrument- not just a few songs to have in my back pocket. Of course learning songs is the ultimate goal, but I truly appreciate that Mike takes the time to use songs in order to teach the instrument itself and goes beyond just learning how to play some chords around the campfire that sound good. He also took the time to learn what I wanted to get out of my lessons and took into account the styles of music I wanted to play. He’s unbelievably patient, kind, clear, organized and supportive (which is huge for me because building up confidence with my playing is a major goal of mine). I just can’t say enough about how awesome he is and I feel like the sky is the limit with my playing now that I have found someone who is so knowledgeable and obviously loves being a teacher. Trust me, he rocks.
