Bio:
Roman Gastelum is an acoustic & electric bassist, vocalist, lyricist and composer based in Los Angeles, CA. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. His influences range from Jazz, Hip-Hop, Funk, Soul, Country, Classical, Alternative, Indie, Rock and Pop music. Roman is active on the Los Angeles music scene today whether he is recording, performing live on stage, an enthusiastic private lesson instructor, a thoughtful lyricist, or composing artistically and commercially. Roman is the bassist, vocalist and lyricist of eclectic progressive rock project - Jigsaw Falling.
Roman released his highly anticipated debut full length record “EQuilibrium” on 9.29.23. The music was composed and arranged in its entirety by Roman, with the project consisting of fellow musicians from the Los Angeles scene, including tenor saxophonist and engineer Brandon Wilkins, trumpeter Aaron Janik, guitarist Andy Waddell, keyboardist Scott Tibbs, drummer Jason Prushko, and Roman on bass (and sometimes vocals). The inspiration and style of the music is Roman’s interpretation of creating a true balance between both boom bap (Hip Hop), and bop/post-bop (Jazz), along with some influences from the UK and other various modern styles.
