John and his crew are the exact example of why I prefer to use local small businesses. My 20 year old HVAC system went out 2 days before Memorial day. He provided me with a quote which, however the work had to be delayed as I had to go out of town for a family emergency. When I was on the way home, I contacted John to schedule the HVAC system installation thinking that it would be later in the week. He arranged it so that I was able to get the HVAC system installation the following day since I was without AC.
The day of the install John and his crew were on time as promised and removed the old HVAC system and installed the new one. It took 6 hours from start to finish. There were no corners cut and the installation was clean and professional.
I have already recommended John to other friends because of his professionalism, quality of work, and pricing. If you are looking for HVAC work to be done, do not hesitate to call John.

He also fixed our leaky duct work, made it more efficient, installed 2 more returns, and a ton of extras to get our HVAC running perfectly! He took away the old system and found cracks in the heat exchanger...so very glad we got it replaced when we did!

I used Thumbtack to find an HVAC company to help diagnose my problem with a 16 year old heat pump which quit cooling abruptly, with a boom. I decided on David Sloan Heating and Air, and couldn’t be happier. He responded in a matter of hours and explained in detail the problem. Our 16 year old compressor died! Rather than invest in a replacement, we decided to replace the entire system. I have a few years’ experience as an HVAC mechanic in the sixties and seventies, so I understood all he was saying. We decided to do a complete install of a new Rheem heat pump and air handler. The install was fast and very neat, and his pricing was extraordinary!
We want to tell you how much I like our new heat pump and the auto changeover thermostat. During the days of cyclic temperatures my house will always be comfortable. I will not have to fool with the thermostat at all. For the past 16 years during the spring and fall seasons I always had to switch the thermostat back and forth between heat and AC. Now, no matter what the temp is outside, the house will always be comfortable
The air handler is so awesome. I love the variable fan speed control and it is so quiet. It really stabilizes the temperature in the house. When you described how the variable speed control worked and how it stabilized the ambient temperature, it made sense to me and is why we decided to go with your recommendation.

I was having problems with condensation building on my air vents and pipes indoors. Steven was SUPER responsive and able to work around my work schedule where most people do not operate outside of 8-5. He really did a high quality job for a good price, last minute. He eneded up installing a service pipe and cleaning my drain clog so I can service it myself in the future. Checking my HVAC. Explained everything well. Really great, honest guy. I will be using his services in the future. Absolutely recommended!

We used Aire Serv to diagnose and repair our air conditioning unit during a 90+ degree week. Not only was the office team incredibly quick to respond, but they were also able to fit us in the very next day for service. The technician, Mike, arrived on time after giving us a notification that he was on his way. He was friendly, professional, and did a fantastic job correcting it in a timely fashion. He not only knew what to do, but knew how to explain it in a way to someone who isn't professionally familiar with HVAC systems. I also appreciated how thorough he was in making sure everything was running properly despite having diagnosed the problem early during the visit.

Knowing nothing about HVAC, I read a lot of reviews before deciding to contact M&J Services. I wanted a contractor whom I could trust. Mike was super responsive, was willing to accommodate our schedule (out-of-town owners), and was prompt to arrive for our appointment. Mike and Jacob troubleshot our system, were quick to diagnose a blown capacitor as the culprit. This was the second blown capacitor and the third HVAC contractor to service our heat pump in 2 years. The first two contractors did not provide a reliable and sensible solution despite being expensive (hence trust issues). As soon as Mike explained why our capacitor kept burning out, we agreed it was time to replace our old heat pump. On installation day, I received a text bright and early from Mike saying they were on their way. They started at 8am and was not done until after 5:00pm. Mike had to run out a few times, but Jacob stayed at our job site the entire day. Jacob is so hard-working. Our attic must have been very hot that day, he was drenched after a couple of hours. Jacob and Mike were very respectful of us and of our house the entire time. Drop cloths were laid out, shoe booties were worn, they even asked for permission before using our bathroom. At the end, we had a brand new working heat pump and air handling unit. Cold air was blowing out of the vents again. Pure joy! Mike and Jacob stayed to make sure the house cooled down sufficiently before calling it a day.
Later that evening we noticed a minor damage in the ceiling below the attic where M&J were working. I took a photo and texted them the next day. Mike responded right away asking when we’d be in town next so they could come take a look. No skirting the issue. I was impressed! A cause for the ceiling damage still needs to be determined. I can give an update to this review when that happens, but for now, I wholeheartedly recommend M&J Services, and will definitely use them again for our HVAC needs.

Originally I was satisfied with the service provided. Although it was not cheap it TEMPORARILY masked the actual problem. I believe I was charged for something that just covered up the problem and John's lack of knowledge (or refusal to fix the actual problem) has cost me more money in the end...now that I know the real issue.
John attempted to sell me a brand new A/C, just to make a quick buck. He also talks a good talk about how 'cheap' he is compared to others...however I learned that is not accurate. John should brag a little less and let his work be the proof.
Him and his wife seemed nice and that is the only positive feedback I can provide, but a good HVAC repair company with integrity is hard to find. I would not recommend Atlantic Coast Contractors and have retrieved all recommendations I made.

John was great from start to finish. Quick to respond with a quote for a split system heat pump replacement. Definitely no pressure. His quote was one of the lower quotes, especially since he was going to put in a Carrier, and no one can compare to the number of excellent reviews he has. After coming out to evaluate everything he would need for the job, he wrote me up a formal contract and did not request any payment until the job was done. John and his guys arrived on time for the day of job. They were polite and got to work quick. By early afternoon they had completely finished and cleaned everything up. He even changed the orientation of my air handler so it would be better to service and get around in the attic. Definitely consider them for your HVAC needs. John replaced our HVAC system, which has an attic unit as well as an outside unit. Anything that could go wrong, went wrong. From an accidental stepping on the ceiling to the unit sweating and dripping onto our ceiling....keep reading this isn't a negative review. These are things that just happen any time something new is installed, especially in a low attic like ours that is hard to move around in. But John and his employees kept coming back until everything was fixed and any needed repairs were complete. Not many people would do this but he genuinely cares about the quality of his work and his clients! On top of that 4 months after the installation occurred the thermostat he installed shorted out and he came back to replace it! We also had our water heater explode and he came and replaced that. He will always have our business as our go to contractor.
