What is the best waterproof flooring for a basement?
There are several great options for waterproof basement flooring. For example, epoxy floors are waterproof but are thicker and sturdier than paint. Make sure the concrete substrate has been prepared for application.
Tile is a designer’s dream, giving you a moisture-resistant surface that’s infinitely customizable. Rubber sheets or tiles are also good waterproof options, particularly for playrooms, workout areas or laundry rooms.
Vinyl tiles and planks imitate wood or other materials very convincingly, provide moisture resistance and last a long time. And sheet vinyl is affordable and a great waterproofing solution for those in need of quick fixes.
Reviews for Englewood basement professionals

This review is long overdue. Over a year ago Daniel and his team completely finished our unfinished basement. As an older house there are unexpected issues and he handled them quickly and at a fair price. I could not be happier with the final product and I plan to use him again.

I am writing to share my experience with the recent home remodeling project undertaken by John, whom I hired through Thumbtack. I was impressed by the positive reviews and anticipated a seamless and quality project based on those recommendations. Regrettably, my experience with John's work has not met the standards I expected. As someone who has had three homes remodeled, I believe it is crucial to communicate my concern so that someone else doesn't walk into the same issues.
Our basement, measuring less than 900 sq ft, incurred a cost of $59,000. During the drywall phase, it became apparent that John's absence during critical stages, particularly when subcontractors were working was an issue. He left us with curved edges, patches everywhere, nicks down the corners of the walls, and slanted walls. The newly installed egress windows, not included in the initial cost, have paint and drywall residue all over, with visible cracks in the surrounding drywall.
The paint application on the walls is splotchy and has so many missed spots. The vanity lights don't line up, he couldn't have even been bothered to caulk the back of the sink. Despite offering multiple opportunities to address these concerns, it became evident that John lacked the necessary skill set to fix any of this. It is important to mention that attempting to discuss and resolve these matters with John proved challenging, as he tended to dispute disagreements rather than collaboratively finding solutions. He does not want feedback unless it's positive.
In retrospect, I regret not exploring alternative options, whether more expensive or budget-friendly, as the work delivered by John is, in my assessment, unacceptable and incomplete. In light of these circumstances, we had to make the difficult decision to conclude the project and fulfill our payment obligations.
I can only ask you to save yourself the headache of hiring this man. Accountability and quality are lost on his work.

We hired Daniel to turn an unfinished portion of our basement which was currently being used as our laundry area into a bathroom. If we could give 0 stars we would. The list is too long for a post; however, if you would like a list that we have already prepared and images, contact us at Katie.gibney@gmail.com. Don't be fooled like we were by the 4 and 5 star reviews.
Additional comment added to the original above: Daniel, I highly suggest you stop revising your response to our review and stop any further contact with us. #1, we paid you WAY too much for the disaster you left behind. The last check which you were denied was because we stopped payment on the check which we advised you of when we did so. This check should have NEVER been given to you in the first place just like the 3 before that we did allow for you to cash in hopes that things would turn around. Also, this would have been the final check which as agreed to, was not due until the work was complete which was not going to happen. Not only do we have our own pictures, but also those of the new contractor who had to fix EVERY single thing you touched even after we gave you multiple attempts to fix them on your own. We have been told that you could have poisoned our family because you didn't even bother to put a pee trap in and there were several leaks left behind, in addition to the fact that the floor and shower tiles had ZERO material to adhere to. They were placed and then grouted, that's it! the shower would have crumbled in 2 weeks and the floor would have shifted to pressure. This is not to mention that we would have been trapped in the egress window you installed because of the completely incorrect way you jammed the grate on the top, which the owner of that company has had to resolve for us b/c you damaged the grate so much. These are only a couple of the things on our list of 50+ items. Truly the entire job is unbelievable. To say we were difficult is completely absurd is a joke and we have not complained about a single other contractor we have ever worked with. When we tried to communicate with you, you even told us to "chill out" and proceeded to hang up on us. Our current contractor has highly recommended litigation. There is obviously a reason why you ask for so much money up front unlike our current contractor who doesn't want a penny until he is finished. Not to mention that we have not been able to verify your claim of being licensed, bonded and insured. Again, for those interested in details we are happy to provide facts. Tired of this and DONE!
