We asked the owner/proprietor - Tony - to renovate nearly the entire house - kitchen and five bathrooms. Tony started by proposing various design options, quality/various grades of material, and cost models accordingly. Based on his professional recommendation, we opted for (and within our budget/his vendor choice) the best material/cabinetry/tiling, etc. for our extensive renovation project. Even through the height of pandemic months, with shortages on labor and supply-chain issues, Tony was able to complete the job within time and budget - all the while adhering to the requisite protocol/needed precaution for Covid. Everything came out exceptionally beautiful. Please note that the "Value" cited in this review is what Tony brings as a combination of quality, timeliness, innovative material selection, fair price, and continuous communication throughout the project until completion - not an easy feat, especially given the economic realities/inflationary pressures as of late. Based on our outreach to Tony's previous clients, he won't, nor ever has, taken a job simply to low-bid/low-ball another contractor - especially in competition with those contractors who don't have a comparable portfolio of unique renovation projects under their belt or a 'Class-A' builder status. We really appreciated Tony's integrity and business ethics, super pleased with the quality of work and professionalism, and highly recommend Zeinoun Renovation LLC for complex renovation projects where only a Class-A builder will suffice."See more

What is the best waterproof flooring for a basement?

There are several great options for waterproof basement flooring. For example, epoxy floors are waterproof but are thicker and sturdier than paint. Make sure the concrete substrate has been prepared for application. 

Tile is a designer’s dream, giving you a moisture-resistant surface that’s infinitely customizable. Rubber sheets or tiles are also good waterproof options, particularly for playrooms, workout areas or laundry rooms. 

Vinyl tiles and planks imitate wood or other materials very convincingly, provide moisture resistance and last a long time. And sheet vinyl is affordable and a great waterproofing solution for those in need of quick fixes.

I was in a jam and needed to replace the lower 12”-18” of the walls in my basement due to water damage. I had a number of contractors stop by to give me quotes, but what sold me about JJ was their attention to detail and the creative solutions they offered during their initial walkthrough. Not only did they quote a very reasonable price, but they also offered to take care of other items in my basement as well (e.g., see before/after photo of my wet bar). They showed up on time every day, worked full days, and were done within a week. They were respectful of our furniture/toys/junk by covering them with protective tarps throughout their work. And perhaps most importantly, they were very inclusive with us during their time here so we were able to weigh in on decision points that impacted design, function, and price. Upon completion, they encouraged me to inspect every aspect of their work to ensure I was satisfied and even offered to come back later in case I ever spotted something of concern, which gave me great confidence in their work product. In summary, I would strongly recommend them to anybody.

Tony and his team did a phenomenal job transforming our 500 sq foot basement (ie. Concrete box) into a warm & inviting family space with a gorgeous bathroom, well-thought our storage areas and hidden laundry space. Tony is very competitively priced, BUT unlike other contractors, he provides extremely high- quality work. He is meticulous and a perfectionist which means you will LOVE what you get when you work with him. He went above & beyond in a few ways for our project—he completely re-worked our plumbing to move our laundry giving us more open square footage (an entire extra wall of space) and making the space much more aesthetically pleasing—-including reworking our boiler & radiator system (solving an issue that not even our heating & plumbing guys could fix!!!), he leveled the floor (which was beyond what we expected), and re-did all of our electrical to bring it up to code—all on top of finishing the basement & creating a new bathroom where one previously did not exist. While our project was a little delayed in finishing, it was well-worth working with Tony because of how nicely the space turned out, how easy and professional him and his teams are, and how smart he is. Basically, he doesn’t cut corners, skimp on materials, nor rip his customers off. I would highly recommend working with Tony and definitely will hire him in the future. He’s very responsive and also just a nice guy who we felt could be trusted without us being in the house too (which is important)!
