When I initially contacted them to fix a leaky faucet, I was informed that there would be a service call fee and that an assessment of the issue would be necessary before a quote could be provided. I happily complied because it seems very reasonable. However, upon the plumber's arrival, they promptly replaced a cartridge in the handle and charged an exorbitant flat rate of $189 + $49, despite the fact that it only took them ten minutes to complete the task. I am deeply troubled by the lack of transparency regarding pricing and the apparent contradiction between the need for an assessment and the imposition of a flat rate. It is unclear why a flat rate was not disclosed when I initially booked the appointment and requested a quote. This lack of clarity led to a situation where I felt overcharged and misled. The discrepancy between the initial communication about the need for an assessment and the subsequent imposition of a flat rate raises serious concerns about the company's integrity and customer service. It is utterly unacceptable to charge such a high flat rate for a seemingly simple and quick repair without providing any detailed explanation or justification for the cost.
Furthermore, the overall lack of professionalism and transparency during this entire process has left me with a sense of distrust and frustration. It is unfortunate that Shaddix & Sons failed to meet even the most basic expectations of honesty and fairness in their dealings with customers.
In conclusion, I cannot in good conscience recommend Shaddix & Sons to anyone in need of plumbing services. The lack of transparency, the exorbitant flat rate, and the overall unsatisfactory customer experience have left me thoroughly dissatisfied with their services. I hope that this review serves as a cautionary tale for others who may be considering engaging with this company in the future.
