Dr. Hon is an amazing piano teacher. I came to my first lesson with years of music experience in tow, but very limited piano proficiency. After the first lesson I was playing a full song and some rather amazing exercises. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, patient, fun piano teacher, Dr. Hon is the guy!

We are very lucky to know and have Ms. Lu to teach our daughter the pianolesson. She is skilled, serious, patient, joyful and fun. Our daughter has no prior piano experience but immediately fall in love with the instrument and teacher Lu. Her teaching method is thorough and instructive, which helps build a solid foundation for kids to develop their interests and skills in playing piano. We would certainly recommend her to any one who wants to learn piano.

I have taken pianolessons from Robert for a few weeks now and my ability to read sheet music while I play, as well as understand music theory (big areas of weakness for me) have already improved significantly. He is a great instructor who understands what you need in order to become a better player, and he creates a fun and relaxed atmosphere that makes me look forward to my lesson each week. I would highly recommend Robert as a piano instructor!

I have been taking pianolessons with Robert for the past 5 weeks. It has been a great experience so far and I can see some improvement in my technique already. Robert is very flexible with the schedule and accommodates timings as per your requirements as well. Looking forward to further improving my piano skills with his guidance.

Dillon is an incredible piano teacher! He’s very patient yet encouraging and pushes me to really learn and enjoy learning.
Each lesson is much more than just learning to read notes and hit keys. Dillon teaches me to fully appreciate the instrument and the process of making music.
Anyone, adult or child, would be lucky to learn piano with him.

My 13 year old daughter, who is a bit of a snob when it comes to piano teachers, has been delighted to receive lessons by Yurika. She's always been courteous, on time and her rate is very reasonable.

Dillon has been teaching me piano for about 2 months now and I have to say he's a wonderful teacher. He's not only skilled at what he does but also easy and simple to be around. Dillon can teach many lessons which will be applicable through your whole piano journey. I highly recommend atleast trying out a few classes.

Dillon has been teaching Pianolessons to my 2 sons(aged 4 and 8) for two months.
His interaction with the children is very good and they are happy to be taught by him.
Dillon started with teaching the music theory to build a foundation for the future lessons.
I can see that my older boy is improving his piano skills and it seems like Dillon's way of teaching is the right choice for him. He is practicing the lessons during the weekdays.
On the otherside, they are still working on the letter assigments of the notes, and seems like they are not having a lot of progress. Maybe he is too young for this kind of teaching, I am not sure. But I believe he will do better when they pass a certain threshold with the basics.

Hannah is wonderful! I love our weekly pianolessons. Her level of knowledge, patience and professionalism are remarkable. She always knows how best to break down each piece of music and make it easy and fun. I love that she smiles so much. My lessons with her are the best part of my week and I’m so happy to have found such a great teacher!

All three of my kids really enjoyed their lessons with Alkistis, who worked around our schedules, suggested great books for their age and inspired them to practice. I was impressed how much they learned and how much they enjoyed learning piano with her!

Sherry has been tutoring my 5 year old boy for a couple of weeks and her level of theory and practical Pianolessons is truly incredible. She is energetic yet keeps him focused which can be hard with a talkative kid. I am so happy with the quality of her lessons. She is truly challenging him within limits and he is more passionate about his practice.

David is an excellent teacher who uses a wide range of techniques to improve your piano playing skills. I found that my ability to play more precisely and expressively have quickly improved due to his lessons on shaping and expression. Furthermore, I found the studio class that he put on for his students was useful for getting over performance jitters. I look forward to continuing lesson with him in the future.

Our 4 years old daughter started a single 30 minute pianolesson a week with David just little short of 2 months ago. After two weeks, she asked to increased to 45 minute lesson twice a week as she wanted more time with him as she found it fun and exciting. In such a short period of time from an absolute beginner, she can already play a variety of songs on her own and starting to read simple music notes. This could not have been achieved without David. David is not only friendly but extremely patient and creates such a wonderful environment that our daughter is excited to go to her next lesson with him and asks often when will she sees him next.
In addition to playing the piano, both of our daughters (the 4 year old, and our 2 year old) take 30 minute percussion lessons right after the pianolessons. David encourages our whole family to participate as he explains the concepts and methods of different instruments, followed by an improvisational drumming session. He makes both of our daughters feel very comfortable at his place, they absolutely love him!
David is extremely encouraging of learning and involvement in a very positive teaching style. Our girls are very lucky to have him!

Nadav is awesome! He is very enthusiastic, professional, patient, and understand what his students need. His lessons are filled with both practices and theories which not only help me to play the musics but also understand and enjoy them. I’m a beginner and have been self-teaching myself how to play the piano. But with Nadav’s help, I feel like learning a lot so I would highly recommend taking Nadav’s lessons.

My very first lesson with Nadav was amazing. He was great at assessing my capabilities, and then introduced me to a unique “yes-no” strategy to improve my accuracy with piano playing skills. That hour alone was extremely valuable to me and I’m confident he has the techniques to enable his students’ success.

Nadav must have a calm but persuasive way of teaching, because my teenage son responds really well to his instructions to the point of taking notes and eagerly practicing SLOWLY everyday without being reminded. In fact, he of course looks forward to Nadav's lessons, but seems to be enjoying practicing piano. For the first lesson, Nadav brought 3 pieces of music for my son to choose from, based on the past videos I sent Nadav. Those were all excellent choices (interesting and level appropriate) so that my son won't get discouraged practicing a too difficult a song for months on end without improving or finding it disengaging to play too easy a song. My son started studying piano 8 years ago, but finally during this past month he's been studying piano with Nadav, he's truly beginning to enjoy music, and I can't ask for more.

I wholeheartedly recommend David Chang Music for anyone looking to learn to play the piano in the most efficient manner possible! In 6 months time, I went from being a complete piano beginner (albeit with 6 years of flute under my belt) to performing One Summer’s Day by Joe Hisaishi in front of an audience at a NYC concert venue.
David’s strategy of working on a goal piece from the start is highly motivating, especially for someone like me who put off learning the piano for a decade because I didn’t want to spend the first couple years of pianolessons working on chords / finger techniques / basic melodies. With David, you’re able to work on your dream piano piece from Day 1.
In addition to focusing on a goal piece, David’s multi-layered strategies include methodically working through very small subsets of the piece, using logical notation on the sheet music, memorizing the piece from the start, spaced repetition, etc., all of which contributes to an accelerated pace of piano learning. I never imagined I could progress so fast in 6 months - I barely thought I would be able to play with two hands together, let alone a whole piece from memory!
Initially, I wanted to try in-person lessons, but I’m glad that I decided to take lessons as part of his online Pianist Collective. With his strategies, you truly can learn to play the piano remotely. And not only that, you’ll also have a wonderful community of like-minded, passionate piano teachers (shout out to Tristan and Isidora!) and students who will inspire you to further your piano goals. The Pianist Collective also gives you numerous opportunities to practice performing, which was a big part of how I was able to gain enough skill and confidence to perform at the in-person recital. Performing can be terrifying, but David’s methodology will help you manage performance anxiety.
Finally, besides the strategies and the community, what I’m amazing by is David himself. Not only is he a highly accomplished and talented pianist, but he’s a very effective, dedicated, understanding, and knowledgeable teacher and mentor. David has a very profound understanding of human psychology / motivation, and he has a lot of techniques on how to build the mindset and discipline that will help you realize your piano goals. Many, many of his lessons can be applied to all aspects of life, not just piano!
I’m incredibly grateful to be a part of David Chang Music’s Pianist Collective. There’s so much more I could say about David and the Collective, but I just recommend that give it a try yourself!

I searched far and wide for a great professional piano teacher and found it in Justin. I had played when I was a kid and wanted to have a hobby that I can enjoy as well as learn from. Justin listened to what I wanted out of my experience (e.g., enjoyable yet challenging) and has tailored my lessons and checks in regularly to make sure he is doing all he can to make the experience even better. He is very knowledgeable about music in general not just piano, so I am not only learning the keys and technical skills, but also about the composer, music history, and culture. He has a kind and patient way to get me through the hard parts but challenges me to do better than what I expected of myself. I look forward to going to my lessons every week--it feels like a musical escape. Also, he is one of very few teachers in Manhattan who has a grand piano to teach on-- it's a treat to play on it. Highly recommended for all types of piano students!

It’s never easy to pick your piano teacher, especially when you’re a beginner. David demonstrated a great deal of professionalism and patience in the first (trial) lesson. Before I met David, I already tried few teachers and was very uncertain about whether I should begin my piano journey or not. Not only is David experienced in performing but he’s also dedicated in teaching, and he’s passionate about finding the right method for each student.
He’s a trustworthy teacher who’s relentless on sharing his own musical experiences and teaching his methodology in great details. How to relax your arms, how to put your weight while practicing, how to read music,(as a beginner) how to overcome obstacles physically and psychologically. Through his methods, I was able to approach music more efficiently. After very few lessons, I began to feel some improvement and stated to feel the joy in solving problems. And now I’m increasing my lessons from one-hour to two-hour per week. This is definitely the best musical decision I’ve made and I’d recommend David to anyone who’s interested in learning piano and music theory.
