FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When meeting a new student I like to get to know them and their learning style early on, establishing what the student's ideal goals are for themselves in music as early as possible. Then, as we continue to work together, I custom tailor a curriculum that will be help the the student achieve their goal in a fun and engaging process. I recommend that beginning students above age 6 start with 45 minute lessons, and that intermediate/advanced students sign up for 60 minute lessons. As well, I will recommend to students of all levels to make time in their life for 20-60min of practice daily.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
A Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Music Studies from the New England Conservatory of Music and over 15 years of experience as a professional performing musician.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been playing and studying music my whole life and got into the field very young. My father is a professional music performer, composer, and arranger as well and I was introduced to music at an early age through him. I began playing professionally regularly at the age of 13 and then went to the New England Conservatory of Music for my Bachelor's degree. Throughout my whole playing career, I have always made time for teaching and have taught students of every skill level, and in 2015 I began teaching much more often and extensively professionally.
