Samuel K. says, "My lessons with Harrison have been going really well. I came back to piano after a long break, and I’ve been enjoying the learning approach a lot. The structure works well with a busy schedule, which makes it much easier to stay consistent. I really like the focus on learning chords and the language of music instead of just memorizing sheet music. It feels like the difference between being shown one thing to play versus learning the fundamentals so you can figure things out on your own. In the past, I would focus on a single piece, repeat it until I could play it well, and then move on. Now it feels like I’m building a foundation that will let me pick things up much faster and play my own versions of songs. I’m especially looking forward to being able to sit down at the piano, hear something, and feel comfortable improvising, playing by ear, and jamming. Having that flexibility and freedom at the piano is exactly what I’m excited to develop."

Audrey L. says, "I began taking voice lessons from Peter Hostage in May and have been highly satisfied with my decision to do so. If you are considering taking music lessons with Mr. Hostage, know that you can expect a high level of professionalism, a relaxed atmosphere, and most importantly, quality musical instruction. As someone who began singing at an early age, I have had the opportunity to sing both individually and as part of numerous groups. In just three weeks Peter has introduced me to technique that I had not been exposed in my 10+ years singing. I am confident that continued lessons with Mr. Hostage will enhance my vocal ability. The lessons are definitely worth the investment! "

Derek S. says, "I’ve been studying with Simon for about five months now, and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I had started playing piano again after a long hiatus and was looking for a new teacher. Before starting lessons with him, my repertoire had been stagnant for years, but in a relatively short time he has helped me expand it in ways that has been motivating and reinvigorated my love for piano. One thing I especially appreciate is how flexible and accommodating he is with my busy work schedule. As an adult learner, it can be challenging to balance practicing with other responsibilities, but he consistently meets me where I’m at. Even during weeks when I don’t have as much time to practice, he finds ways to keep lessons productive and encouraging. His teaching style strikes a great balance between honesty and humor. He is candid with feedback (he’ll tell you exactly what needs work) but he delivers it in a way that’s constructive and funny, which makes the learning process enjoyable. He also pays close attention to the musical and technical details that make playing sound polished. He frequently offers ways to improve my technique that also helps with voicing, articulation, and tone. He consistently pushes me to think more deeply about how the music should sound and not just how to play the notes. Simon brings a tremendous depth of knowledge from his training and performing career. I’ve grown musically in a short time and gained a deeper appreciation for music. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a thoughtful, skilled, and engaging piano teacher!"
