I had tried learning Mandarin on my own, trying multiple apps, and adhoc sessions with my Taiwanese husband on long car rides, but was not getting anywhere. I decided to see if there was someone willing to provide lessons on Thumbtack and found Crystal. I could not have gotten more lucky to find her! These lessons have been exactly what I needed. She has been able to fully customize each lesson to my ability (or lack thereof) and my goals. Crystal is prepared each time with a plan, and even prepares customized, small homework assignments. She is flexible with our schedule but always on time. She is friendly, encouraging, and positive even when I am struggling. Crystal has been invaluable in my learning Mandarin! I have a long way to go, but have come so far with her as my teacher.
