I am a native Mandarin speaker with over a decade of teaching experience. I help beginning, intermediate and advanced learners improve their proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking, through programs tailored to each student’s specific needs. One of my specialties, for example, is a goal-oriented process that aims to allow the student to communicate within a limited vocabulary rather than a complete mastery of the language. This is a practical approach that allows my clients to hold basic day-to-day conversations after around just 30 hours in the classroom, which is a much easier time commitment.
Additionally, I hold an MBA in Finance, which has allowed me to partner with major banks, finance companies, and law firms to prepare their employees for overseas work. My past experience includes working with Columbia University Chazen Business School, Google, JP Morgan etc. And many of my students have passed the HSK test levels 5-6, equivalent to the ACTFL Advanced Level.
Given the current situation, I will be instructing students virtually. I am experienced with teaching in an efficient and engaging manner even despite physical distance. Before beginning classes, I like to hold free 15-minute diagnostic sessions with clients in order to assess their skill level and tailor a learning program to their specific needs and goals.
