I am a self-learner and usually don’t find most teachers/tutors that helpful since I can pretty much learn most things on my own. But Grey really stood out — he taught me things that I think a lot of the online tutorials will not tell you, and it is these things that will make your journey of learning guitar different! You will not only know what to do and how to do, but also why, which is extremely helpful for grasping the concepts more quickly and gain a deeper understanding."See more

I'd been stuck for a long time on the chasm between "knows a few chords and the tabs to a couple songs" and "actually feeling confident that I can play". It's only been a few weeks, but I'm starting to cross that bridge and maybe even start considering myself a guitar player. Before our first lesson he asked me for a playlist of songs I like to listen to, which he's woven into our practice sessions so that they suddenly feel attainable. This has also made listening to music way more fun. I notice riffs in songs and think "How would I have done that?" and can now fumble out my own version with a bit of effort. He knows when to let me mess around and figure something out for myself, and he knows when to step in and show me what to do. He even takes the time to record a short recap / practice video for me so that I know exactly what to work on for next time. I always leave our lessons in the best mood, and Wednesday evenings are now the most fiercely guarded block on my calendar. 10/10 would recommend."See more

He responded promptly to my inquiry, listened to my requests, and made some creative suggestions I would never have thought of that elevated the entire experience. On the day of the event, Jon arrived on time & had everything set up & ready to perform as the guests arrived. Jon’s knowledge of all eras & genres of music was mind-boggling (we requested covers from 1973-1974). I provide a list of a few songs that were important to my parents, but in addition, Jon took requests from the guests! He is an amazing vocalist, and his guitar playing was absolutely incredible! His experience as a touring musician w/chart topping artists for many years was definitely on display. He also DJ’d the second half of our party & had everybody up and dancing the entire night!
