Up front, Lane talked to me about what I wanted to get out of drum lessons, and then he has catered my lessons to help me achieve my goals.
When I first went to Lane's studio, I didn't know how to hold a drumstick. 30 minutes later, I was on the drum kit having fun and practicing the new things I had learned.
Each week now, I'm adding to my technique and getting more advanced on the kit. It's a blast! I get discouraged easily, and Lane is great at helping me work through things I'm struggling with, and suggesting alternatives that help me eventually succeed.
Another thing that is nice about Lane is he's always an email away, and he reviews your practice notes online and gives you feedback and suggestions. He has a ton of online resources that help me practice when I'm at home.
Also, Lane worked with me to find a time in my busy schedule that was most convenient.
His lessons are really working well for me and I'd highly recommend him as a teacher.
