I met David through my wife when she gifted me a small pack of lessons for Christmas. I had been picking through a book of holiday songs with my 6 year old son, but really wasn't making much progress. When I was 8 years old I took about a year of piano lessons and then stopped. Some of that experience stuck while most did not. I needed help. Enter David and his methodology for teaching. We chose my first goal piece, Mozart's Sonata in C major K.545 Facile movement 1. It's a very recognizable piece and certainly out of my league when I started working on it. David employs many strategies. Some of those that I found extremely helpful were adding in reverse, the notational system for recording progress, and spaced repetition. Applying just a few of the things that David teaches has really taught me a lot about how to teach myself. All of my lessons are remote. I mention this because David's ability to hone in on what I'm doing wrong (and right) just by watching over Facetime is pretty extraordinary. After a year of lessons, with relatively little practice time (definitely less than 1-2 hours per week), I was able to play that Mozart piece as well as a good chunk of Canon in D.
He is an all-around exceptional teacher, pianist, and just a good human.
