I contacted several stucco specialists. Juan was very responsive and the first to show up for a quote, a detailed walkthrough of what he would do. I spoke with 2 other specialists - the other bids were either too expensive or not detailed in their explanation of their work. I chose to go with Juan. I had old rough stucco from the 1960's, old wood siding, and some unfinished stucco from window replacements from the past. I wanted to have a smoother finish with a richer color look. Juan recommended use of a special OmegaFlex acrylic stucco medium or coarse finish. It was a bit more expensive than regular stucco but on reading about it I think it was a great recommendation for long term durability, function and looks. Juan is a thorough professional. He stuck to every detail that I had discussed with him earlier. His workers are skilled and I was actually surprised how quickly they were able to apply the layers of stucco neatly. All spoke good English, good to communicate with, and easy to work with. Typically he only does stucco, but since I also had trims/doors that needed painting, I asked him if he could do that for an additional price. He took that on. But one suggestion for him is to be more careful in subcontracting painters - the initial painters missed some areas and had some problems with paint application and Juan had to get another painter later to fix things. In the end it was all good, but it caused some minor disruptions for the paintwork. The work just got done yesterday and the end result is quite stunning (IMO!) - I'm posting some pictures before, during the work and after the work was done. I would 100% recommend him. (I put some time into the review because I've not seen many contractors deliver their job with such passion and Juan deserves this review - he really worked hard and showed results)
