I found Gregg on Thumbtack when I was struggling to install a camera lightbulb security system on my own. It was a new type of security system, one I hadn’t seen before. I’d found a couple of 5 star reviews on the internet which looked legit (I realize now they weren’t) so unfortunately I bought a couple of bulbs for outside my front door and garage. It was touted as easy to set up and you could run it with an app installed on your phone. I got the bulbs and tried to connect them to my WIFI. No go. Instructions were miniscule (translated: Freaking too small on paper for my baby boomer eyes). When I couldn’t set them up I wondered if I had WIFI issues so I contacted Gregg and he came out the next day. Even Gregg couldn’t see the instructions well and he was much younger than me. He looked at my WIFI first, which I must admit was not the best one I could have picked. It was supposed to have 2.4 G and 5G bands, and it was running on only one. He tried setting the bulbs up for me, and worked on it two hours at least, trying every which way he could think of as an experienced system professional, and they Just. Didn’t. Work.
So I am trying to return them. In the meantime, I asked for suggestions for a new router and security systems. He made some recommendations, and I ended up picking a higher end Netgear Nighthawk router, and a Google nest doorbell and Nest Cam. They were pretty highly rated which is why I picked them. Plus, it doesn’t hurt Gregg uses Google Nest too. And I have a small house, so these two items were all I needed. Go with what the security guy uses, I decided. I was able to set up the Nighthawk router on my own and was pleasantly surprised when my download speed went from 35 MBPS to 450 MBPS!!! It felt like I won the lottery, I was so happy with those speeds. When my Google Nest equipment arrived, I contacted Gregg to come out and install it for me. He did the installation today in only a few hours, showed me the app I needed to download, how to load the equipment into the app, and how to use it. It’s pretty straightforward, and I’m really happy with the products I chose.
Gregg is personable, easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and professional. A very pleasant person, and one I can easily recommend for any of your security, wifi, sound system needs. Plus my dog liked him too. He even dragged out his favorite toy to get Gregg to play with him. If my dog likes him, he’s golden in my book.
