Rosalyn L. says, "10/10 - Exceeded all expectations for a new, improved deck! I had found Ricardo and his CLR team on Thumbtack, when I searched for “new deck” - and I’m so glad I found him. I reached out to five companies for quotes and Ricardo was not only the most cost-effective, but I immediately trusted his professionalism and knowledge. I only have one “before” photo to showcase the absolute chaos our deck was - I will tell you though: it was three different, disconnected decks, all built at different times and with different mechanics: one deck was a plastic tarp like finish, one broken, rotted wood deck and a standard wood deck under a makeshift chicken coup roofing. Sufficed it to say — it was neither pretty, nor functional, nor safe. When I met with Ricardo, he worked with me on my budget and told me what would be possible, he gave me the information direct and concise. We came to an agreement in price and scope of work and his team was on-site within a week. Two photos included in this review are “after” - Ricardo and his team built all parts of this deck: waterproofing (where it is over a garage), cable railing, stairs, concrete landing. What the pictures do not show effectively is the entire rework of the structure under the deck. We used TimberTech and it needed 2x8s and a reconfigured weight distribution and they did it all with skill. The three, disconnected, ugly and unsafe decks were transformed into one cohesive deck that is an absolute stunner. It’s our favorite place in the house to be, the deck is perfectly crafted and beautiful. His team was fantastic to work with: polite and professional. I will be using them again when I am able to redo my front porch and other side deck. I highly recommend CLR for your deck."See more

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do I find a good concrete contractor in Seattle?

You’ll find qualified concrete contractors in Seattle by searching online, where you can compare several profiles based on reviews from customers, project photos and descriptions of their services (for example, patio, pool and driveway installation or repair services). Contact at least three contractors to request free quotes so you can compare prices in Seattle. And make sure the contractors have the proper license and registration in Washington and Seattle.

How much does a concrete patio cost?

On average, a concrete patio costs about $2,500-$7,000. The cost to install a concrete patio will vary depending on the size, the finish, whether you want it stamped and many other factors. That’s why you should always get a few cost estimates from professionals when planning this project.

How do I hire the best deck contractor in Seattle?

To find and hire the best deck contractor in Seattle, complete these steps:

  • Read their ratings and customer reviews online.
  • Look at photos of their previous work, especially photos of decks that resemble the type of deck you want for your home.
  • Check their credentials by either reviewing their profile, searching online (you can visit the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries website) or asking them to send you the information.
  • Ask for free estimates from at least three to five contractors.

Once you’ve completed these steps, review your research and hire a contractor you believe will bring your vision to life.

How do you clean a concrete patio?

Use a hose and liquid dish soap to scrub and wash away dirt from your concrete patio. You can also use a pressure washer (just make sure you know how to use it). You can also hire a professional patio cleaner or pressure washing service to help you maintain your patio.

How do you paint a concrete patio?

To paint a concrete patio or porch, decide what type of paint you should use. For example, you might want to consider epoxy-based paint for stain resistance and durability. Then, you’ll need to clean and prep the area, fix any cracks and holes, apply a primer and apply two coats of paint.

To ensure the job is done correctly, hire a concrete painter near you.

How do you fix cracks in a concrete patio?

To fix the crack and holes in your concrete patio, you can apply a concrete repair mix or concrete crack filler. However, for more severe cracks, consider hiring a concrete repair contractor. They have the skills and experience to fill your cracks and holes, ensuring your concrete patio will last as long as possible.

How do you stain a concrete patio?

Hire a concrete staining contractor for this project. These professionals will clean your concrete patio, repair any cracks, and apply the stain and sealer for you.

How thick should a concrete patio be?

Generally, a concrete patio is 4-8 inches thick. Your concrete contractor or patio builder should be able to determine how thick your patio should be.

How much does it cost to build a deck?

The cost of building a new deck or porch is $1,500. However, this price can vary depending on a few different factors. The square footage of the space, the type of materials to be used, the intricacy of the project and your specific region can cause the price to fluctuate. What is the best sealer to use on concrete?

Because unsealed concrete is porous, it readily absorbs liquids, leading to unsightly stains and freeze-and-thaw cycle damage. For this reason, it’s important to seal concrete that will see spills or outdoor weather.

The best option for garage floors and other high-traffic areas is epoxy, which forms a hard and extremely durable surface on top of concrete. Epoxy, acrylic, and polishes are often used on indoor floors, while acrylic-resin sealers and reactive penetrating sealers are used on outdoor surfaces to repel water and salt. Locate a concrete contractor in your area to help find the best solution.
