I contracted with Green Haulerz to pick up a recliner at the store and deliver it to my house about 5 miles away. We agreed on a price over the Thumbtack chat and then had a quick call (with the owner who is also the guy doing the delivery)to finalize the arrangements for the next day.
The owner arrived at the store about half an hour late, seemed in a foul mood and almost immediately started making the case for more money by claiming to routinely deliver very expensive furniture for a lot of money.
When we reached my house he dropped it off in the garage (about 15 feet) from the location in the basement I had earmarked and then insisted on another 300/- dollars to drop it in the correct place.
At this point he had dropped all pretenses of being reasonable and started hurling racist insults at me, immigrants and Mexicans (I am not a Mexican ). I had to end the conversation there.
A couple hours later, I had Lugg come and finish the job, they charged me 50/- including the fee for showing up.
