FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Remember one thing. YOU END UP OWNING THE RIGHTS TO ALL THE HIGH RESOLUTION PHOTOS I TAKE AND TOUCH UP - WITH A PHOTO RELEASE. So, there is NO up-selling unless you want me to provide printing services. You will have your final images emailed to you through a link within 24-48 hours. Basically, budget is negotiable. You may need to spend less within reason, or you may want or need to expand your project and spend more. Obviously a photo shoot of a couple on the beach costs more than a 22 member family portrait session on Maui (which I've done). So the price depends on the shoot, though the price I've bid now is generally what clients eventually decide is best. I've done family/portrait projects from around $200 to $1500. More extensive jobs, especially with video, cost up to $5000+. My pricing is based for work on Oahu but I do many jobs on the other islands (which determines unique pricing.)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Communication is first and foremost. We want to know what you specifically want and when. I can offer other details regarding great locations, time of day to shoot, different poses, logistics, etc. As mentioned, I generally provide ALL the touched up photos to you (complete with a photo release) via an Internet link. If special editing is needed for your BEST PHOTO, like one you want to make a extra large print, I will provide special editing (skin tones, blemish removal, minor hair touch up, etc) for that one photo at no extra charge ($50 value) - or if you want me to provide printing, flash drives, or DVD's, for all your photos, I can provide it. Above all, we have fun! Any person's mood reflects in their expressions and body language. Plus, when you look back at the photos, we want you to remember it was a fun, pleasant experience.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a professional photographer and video producer for over 40 years. I'm always learning.
