We talk about the customer's goals for the session, their comfort level, and their budget. We also discuss the logistics of the session, such as the date, time, and location. Pre-session planning: Once the consultation is over, I work with the customer to choose outfits, props, and locations. I also provide them with tips on how to prepare for the session. I want the customer to feel confident and comfortable on the day of the session, so I want to make sure they're prepared. Session: The session is usually 1-2 hours long. Post-session: I edit the photos and deliver them to the customer digitally after the session. I also offer prints and albums. I want the customer to be happy with their photos, so I take my time editing them and offer them various options.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do your research. Look at the photographer's portfolio and read reviews to get an idea of their style and experience. Meet with the photographer in person. This is a great way to get to know the photographer and see if you feel comfortable working with them. Be clear about your expectations. What are you looking for in a boudoir session? What kind of images do you want? Let the photographer know so they can create a shoot that is tailored to your needs. Trust your gut. If you don't feel comfortable with the photographer, don't hire them. There are plenty of other boudoir photographers out there who would be happy to work with you.
