Introduction

I am a documentary photographer based in Syracuse, New York. I specialize in events, weddings/elopements, engagements, families, birth stories, and my personal favorite: documentary family or business photography - showing your 'day in the life' through candid imagery. My priority as a photographer is to make you feel comfortable and listened to. I was so nervous to get my engagement photos done because I hate being in front of the camera, but Caitlin made it so easy for me and my partner. She found the most beautiful spot to take the photos in the mountains at sunset and she had me actually genuinely laughing during the shoot instead of staging it. Cannot recommend enough.

From the start Caitlin was quick to respond to my questions before setting our appointment date. After that was set she offered to hop on a phone call to go over specifics. Due to COVID-19 the city we were traveling to went into a stay at home order, meaning our holiday trip got canceled. This means our session with Caitlin was canceled as well. She handled the entire process with great understanding and made it very smooth for our family. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely reach out to Caitlin for a session. She is great!

FAQs

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated with a BA in Film Production. After college, I began pursuing photography as a career and was hired by a student travel company to photograph their international programs in 2016. This took me to Southeast Asia, Cuba, Central America, and Belize. Since then I have been focused on both editorial work and family/business photography. Most recently, I was selected to participate in the renowned Missouri Photo Workshop which I completed on September 26th, 2020.
