We worked in all the different aspects of music, from jazz improvisation and interpretation, to how to play with ensembles, as well as orchestrating and arranging. I always admired Lonnie's willingness to work with me on what i wanted to work on. As a young musician my creativity was pretty boundless and it was hard to get me to learn music in a conventional way. Lonnie showed me how important it was to listen to music in order to learn. I received the right amount of motivation and guidance from my lessons with Lonnie to propel me into a life of musical work, as i currently make a living as a freelance composer in Los Angeles.
