Kyle's private online pianolessons are great. He works well with my 13 year old and I can see and hear her steadily improving.

Adrienne is an incredible and patient teacher. Beyond basic pianolessons and music theory, she has an incredible wealth of knowledge of music history. She really helps you apply the written lessons to practical skills to help you advance and understand how to progress.

Mr. Murphy is an excellent piano teacher. I have a boy who’s smart ,but like most boys he is hard to concentrate on his pianolessons. Mr. Murphy is really good at teaching so my son can easily focus on his lesson without any distractions. God knows how happy I am. Meanwhile,Mr. Murphy is an very professional pianist. He gives his students voluble instruction. And he is full of enthusiasm to help his students to reach theirs achievements. I strongly recommend you to choose Mr. Murphy be your child’s piano teacher !

Dr. Lee is great with my two boys ages 6 and 9. They are reluctant to do piano but Dr. Lee is very patient and kind with them. They have smiles on their faces when they show me what they learned. And I love that she comes to my home to do the lessons.

Both my kids 7 and 9 love their pianolessons with Kyle. He is just one of those people that kids love. He is able to get them to laugh one minute and make sure they're focused the next. Kyle is always prepared for their lessons. He lets me know how they're doing and what they're working on. He is always available during the week if they are having trouble with a part in the song and have a question. My kids are getting better and better but most of all, they are enjoying it.

I waited a few weeks to write this so that it would be as level headed as possible.
I used Ryan for about 8-10 lessons, up until we had a falling out over his unethical business practices, which he calls his “policies”.
I’ll start by saying he is a great instructor -very knowledgeable, experienced, and well spoken. So I am sad that we are no longer working together, but I can’t work with someone who feels it is ok to keep my money even though no lesson took place...to me that is plain stealing.
So, since I am a very busy adult, me and Ryan had a “week to week” agreement in place. Basically every week we would check in with each other on whether or not I would be able to work a lesson with him - depending on my schedule or if I had enough time to practice the previous lesson. And once we agreed to schedule a lesson for that week, I would immediately Venmo him the payment (because he requires all lessons to be prepaid).
Well one week we had a misunderstanding about scheduling a lesson. I gave him a heads up about most likely (key: most likely) not being ready or prepared for a lesson that week, BUT I went ahead and still sent him a payment because (I felt bad)I know he likes to get his payments every week (but I assumed I could just apply it to another week’s lesson). Well I never heard back from him, so I assumed we were on the same page...until I got a text from my fiancé saying he showed up to my house to do the lesson. Oops, so I apologized to him for the miscommunication (even though he could have easily confirmed with me as well before showing up), and told him I’d be ready the next week.
Well when it came time to book the next lesson, he sent me a new payment request. When I reminded him that I already sent him a payment the following week, he told me basically that because he showed up and I cancelled on him that I would have to “forfeit” that payment and pay him again for the next lesson. I was shocked and appalled to say the least (I did not cancel on him), but because he is a good teacher and we’ve already been working together, I tried to offer him a compromise of paying him $20 for his troubles of showing up to my house, and then crediting me $10 for the next 4 lessons. He flatly said nope, and kept referring back me to his policies of “because teaching is my main means of monthly income, it’s important that I receive my payments fully & consistently. Therefore any lessons that are missed are missed”. I really don’t understand that logic, because it basically means that because he’s choosing to earn his living in the way that he does, it justifies an unethical policy that is COMPLETELY UNFAIR to his students.
The ultimate point is - People have lives, and pianolessons are not life or death - so it blows my mind that he thinks it’s ok to keep my $60 just for showing up to my house, using my bathroom, and then leaving.
So in closing: if you’re looking for a good instructor but are okay with paying for lessons you may have to cancel, rearrange, or just plain doesn’t happen - then sure consider hiring Ryan. But if you’re like most of us - and expect ethical business practices, empathy of some flexibility, and fairness in character - well then you will want to stay clear.
