Bathroom Remodel, Kitchen Remodel

Adnan S. says, "We have a nice home in a nice neighborhood. I've been told by a structural engineer that it's an "heirloom" home. Not sure what that means but I know that it's custom built with a lot of high end features and they don't make houses like these anymore unless you are in the market for homes costing over $1.5M. Embarked on a $100K kitchen renovation last year and Shaun was our guy. To cut to the chase, the kitchen turned out fantastic! The things I like most about Shaun are the following -- 1. He has an incredible eye for detail. He recognizes what needs to be done and executes the task with full vigor and diligence. For example, when installing the sink base cabinet, he noticed the center hole didn't quite line up with the center of the picture window behind it. So he removed it and re-installed it. He's definitely a perfectionist. We are currently having him fix mold damaged ceiling in our two story great room. While repainting, he fixed cracks, dents, nicks, and exposed drywall screws in the ceiling and walls. These items were very small and insignificant and I had never noticed them. In addition, areas that have needed extra coats of paint for a flawless look have gotten them. He's the kind of guy that you can leave your home with knowing that it's in good hands. 2. He's easy to work with and has a can-do attitude and is willing to make changes or modifications midway through projects if they make sense. For example, after installing the custom cabinetry for the built in fridge, I didn't like the location and was actually losing sleep over it and regretting that I hadn't gone over the design more closely. The next morning I asked him to swap it from one spot to another. I was worried it would entail having to order a new custom cabinet and frame which would take weeks. Shaun said "no problem" and fixed it right away. He used the same cabinets but simply flipped some of the boards upside down and inside out to hide the screw holes that would have been otherwise visible. Finished kitchen looks absolutely fantastic. 3. He's a consumate professional. He gives good advice. Shaun knows when to let the homeowner make decisions and when to gently guide them to prevent them from making bad decisions. He foresees potential problems and opportunities for improvement and will bring it up to the homeowner. For example, while installing the new kitchen, Shaun recommended adding a pot filler and an instant hotbwater dispenser. I'd seen these things in magazines but hadn't considered them. So glad we listened to Shaun. We use them on a daily basis and they provide our home with those extra desirable features in case we sell it. While repainting the ceiling, he was prepared to use the same light fixtures until we saw how old and yellowed they'd become. Shaun recommended changing them out to the newer LEDs. Boom! Done! Looks so much better and now we can control the temperature of the lights with a new dimmer switch. Similarly will be changing out old fashioned brass candle-like chandelier in foyer since the scaffolding is up and it'll save me at least a thousand in installation costs. 4. Shaun has loads of experience and has been in this trade ever since he was a teenager. He has learned at the feet of old time masters. He is skilled and seasoned and the quality of his work is evidence. His work is of artisanal quality. He is excellent at multiple skillsets including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and obviously cabinetry installation. Will try to upload photos."See more
