Buyer Beware: My Experience with Leo and His Wife
In my opinion, working with Leo and his wife was disappointing. They came out to quote a door installation for me, and during the visit, they mentioned they handle all types of home renovation work. Since I also needed drywall work done, I showed them an additional area for a quote. I let them know that while I had multiple projects, my current priority was getting the doors and drywall done.
I felt their quote for the doors was severely overpriced compared to the going market rate. However, the drywall quote seemed reasonable. I shared that I typically prefer to start small, paying a bit more to see the quality of work before committing to something larger, such as an entire basement renovation, especially given my past experiences with contractors who didn’t follow through.
To my surprise, I was told, “If we don’t get to do everything, we don’t want your project.” This approach, in my opinion, raises red flags. I avoid contractors who aren’t willing to prove their capabilities with part of a job before securing larger contracts. To me, it feels like a potential sign of a quick money grab, and that’s the type of contractor I prefer to steer clear of. Utilize them at your own risk.

If you’re reading this, call him! No need to look further or read any more reviews! I appreciate Zak coming to fix my door. He provided another option that he wasn’t scheduled to do but he went ahead and did it for me on the spot. Not to mention he fixed the areas around the frame that a previous handyman messed up. He will be my go to moving forward.

I feel bad leaving low score, but I feel worse when ppl after me have the same experience. Joe was late for every scheduled appt. My door installation is hung, but the seal is not completely caulked and a screw is left sticking out. I was told he would come back to finish it, after a week of no response I decided to figure it out on my own. Materials purchased from them were incorrect twice, creating a delay in completing my project. I'd love to support this company but if they aren't improving by using customer feedback, I can't help. On a positive note Joe is a very nice person and does try to compensate for the errors, I just think this operation needs some restructuring.
