What is the best waterproof flooring for a basement?
There are several great options for waterproof basement flooring. For example, epoxy floors are waterproof but are thicker and sturdier than paint. Make sure the concrete substrate has been prepared for application.

****UPDATED POST IN RESPONSE TO JUAN INCLUDES PICTURES AND CONTRACT ANS EMAILS.
I would rather give NO stars, but it makes you do at least 1. At first the job was going good. The contract with Juan said 4 payments...first payment upon initial start, the next 2 spaced out about 10 days apart as he completed more work and the final payment was on completion. With still much work to be done, Juan says I know this isn’t what we agreed to but can I have the final payment because I need to pay my guys...I said no because there’s still work to be done (bathroom remodel wasn’t even close to completion, walls still needed to be touched up, sump pump install not done). After I said no Juan didn’t come as frequently and didn’t stay as long when he worked. Fast forward to maybe 1 week later, he says I’ll be complete today and I’ll need the check. I said the bathroom still isn’t completed, the stairs weren’t completed, the shower door wasn’t installed, no touch painting done, some electrical outlets didn’t even have covers on them, closet light doesn’t work correctly, toilet wasn’t complete, sink plumbing wasn’t done but yet he says he was gonna be done. So we went back and forth by text where he persists to say oh we didn’t discuss me doing that or that...I’m like are you kidding me, we did and it’s in the contract. After exchanging some nasty texts (mind you he did some returns for me but one of the credits from the return never showed up on my credit card and he swears he did the return but yet couldn’t provide the return receipt), I get home a few hours later and he has packed up all his tools plus supplies that I purchased (nails, screws, etc) and left my key on the back stairs with all the remainder of the work unfinished. Super tacky, I definitely wouldn’t recommend him. He mentioned he was remodeling his own kitchen and I think that’s what happened...instead of paying his workers he spent the money on his remodel and then was desperate for payment before the job was completed but of course I refused. He does good work to start but expects to be paid before the job is over and yet that isn’t what was stated in the contract. So now I have to find someone to complete the work he didn’t finish within the next 2 weeks. As a female, I hate dealing with contractors sometimes because I know he would’ve never taken this approach had he been dealing with a man. But it’s good, definitely wouldn’t recommend and I’ll find someone else.
Now in response to Juan’s response, see updated pictures....clearly you can see the date he asked for the final payment before the project was even finished and you can see pictures of the majority of the work that wasn’t finished. The contract is also included that mentions the stair work and the shower doors....I would never ask a contractor to do more and not pay...so that’s a clear fabrication and why would I get a project done and leave out something as important as the basement stairs which is how you get downstairs and something as important as a shower door....and no I didn’t ask for a shower curtain to be out up in a Custom tiled shower....that wouldn’t even make sense especially with the floor as low as it is....with a shower curtain, wouldn’t water be all the floor? So how much sense does that make to install a shower curtain? In addition, the contract and email trail clearly say the sump pump purchase and install is included on the purchase, so thinking I wasn’t reviewing my receipts when a phone order was placed Juan ordered the sump pump, plus garbage bags plus a tool that should not have been at my expense at all. So let’s get ur right Juan, you got mad and quit because I wouldn’t pay before you completed the job. You asked for the final payment on 4/20, 4/23 I questioned what’s happening with getting my basement done and 4/26 you packed up and left and the work wasn’t completed because again I wouldn’t pay you because the work wasn’t finished. Homeowners just beware if you work with Juan.
