I studied graphic design at university and have been photographing for 13 years. My photography work has been featured by National Geographic, Vogue, Dove, Feminist, Goop, etc, and has been recognized by Siena's International Photo Awards. My experience is in portrait, product and event photography. Being photographed can be nerve-wracking, and selecting the right photographer to capture big moments can be a lot of pressure. I get it. My job as a photographer is to do my best to make sure you have the best experience possible, from working with you to plan for the photoshoot, to making sure you feel confident and relaxed in front of the camera.

I hired Briana Gardener through Thumbtack for a photoshoot project for a magazine feature article with Brainz Magazine. I have my own holistic health practice: Astraea Healing Connection and the magazine intended to feature it. For the purpose of the feature, I needed to provide professional quality photographs including portrait-type photos, as well as photos highlighting my practice. Briana was very accommodating of my request and was quick to provide a list of outdoor venues in Washington, DC that would work well for the project. We settled on the Kennedy Center, and I am very glad that I picked this venue. We chose to do a morning photoshoot to avoid running into concert-goers in the afternoon. Briana was punctual and, upon arrival, we took a moment to explore the venue and choose a place to set up. This ended up being a two-part session: at first we worked on some photos highlighting my practice, then we did some portrait shots. Briana offered guidance throughout the session and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. She took a variety of photos from different angles, which highlight the work that I do, while not losing the emphasis on me as the owner of the practice. The portrait photos also show different sides who I am as a person. Once the photoshoot was done, I opted for a rush order. This meant receiving the downloads within a week. Briana was, again, able to meet my request, providing the materials exactly a week after the photoshoot. Overall, I am very pleased with my collaboration with Briana and would highly recommend her for professional photoshoots for small business owners who are looking for ways to promote their work. The quality and the diversity of the photos that I received exceeded my expectations. I am very happy with the having chosen Briana for this project.

Finding the right photographer for your budget can be a challenge. My packages are designed to be flexible because each client's wants are unique.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Step 1: Phonecall and/or email conversation where the client shares want and creative vision. Step 2: Photoshoot! Step 3: Photos are edited and returned to the client digitally. Smaller projects are delivered in 2 weeks, larger projects in 1 month!
