Samantha Weisman says, "We had a great experience with Simple Choice. From the start, Peter was very easy to work with. He came to give a consultation and provided us with the best options based on how we wanted the projects to go. The first project was to redo the front yard, removing all the existing bushes and adding 4 new citrus trees and 2 beautiful olive trees. Simple Choice proposed deigns and sourced gorgeous plants and trees that have held up very well over the past 2 very wet winters. We were very impressed with the first project so we contacted Peter to replace all the flooring in our house, including the staircase, and a full interior paint job. We also contracted them to build a screened-in porch for us. The flooring process was shockingly easy for us. Peter found us a great flooring option at a price lower than we could find it ourselves. The team did a great job with attention to detail and quicker than we could have imagined (3 weeks overall for the floors, paint, and staircase to be fully complete, but mostly done within 2 weeks despite bad weather). The screened-in porch is everything we wanted and more. Peter made the great suggestion to add a rolling screen panel that can open the porch to the outside when we want to make a transitional space between the porch and the yard. He listened to what I wanted in all the projects and was very respectful. Anything we had issues with (minor things here and there) would be addressed and fixed immediately. I would highly recommend working with Simple Choice!"See more

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is the best waterproof flooring for a basement?

There are several great options for waterproof basement flooring. For example, epoxy floors are waterproof but are thicker and sturdier than paint. Make sure the concrete substrate has been prepared for application.

Tile is a designer’s dream, giving you a moisture-resistant surface that’s infinitely customizable. Rubber sheets or tiles are also good waterproof options, particularly for playrooms, workout areas or laundry rooms.

Vinyl tiles and planks imitate wood or other materials very convincingly, provide moisture resistance and last a long time. And sheet vinyl is affordable and a great waterproofing solution for those in need of quick fixes.
