Gonzalez Home Services was great. Alfredo scheduled our job within a short window of time he had free. They removed and installed a new bathroom vanity, fixtures and medicine cabinet, and cleaned and painted our kitchen, pantry and bathroom. Ze installed a bathroom vanity and a new medicine cabinet. The project involved converting plumbing from one to two faucets. Ze also moved a wall-mount light fixture to make room for the cabinet. Ze paid a lot of attention to detail and checked in with us several times during the job. Our satisfaction was clearly a priority for him.

Marble helped install two bathroom vanities, and drill holes in our counter for hot water and soap dispensers. It took several tries get the right parts for the different jobs, but they were persistent and communicative. Only issue was our plumber didn't speak any English and it was hard to understand what was/wasn't working about the parts we had. But there was no problem in the end, and it just took longer than expected.

Took a bit to connect as he was busy and I was new to Thumbtack, so not a problem. I have several small rentals in SF and my prior Handiman suffered a major medical issue that will likely mean he won't work again. I read reviews on Thumbtack and contacted The British Handyman (TBH). There was a lighting issue and some miscellaneous things in the bathroom that the previous guy hadn't gotten too. Previous guy had also purchased material to install a backsplash on a new bathroom vanity but never installed it. Previous guy is a friend of a family friend...he is very reasonable BUT not very experienced and often takes a very long time to complete work. This was starting to irritate both me and my tenants. Per my tenant, TBH was punctual. He took care of all the issues within 2 hours....other guy would have "dinked" around and taken far longer. Also, TBH did not install the backsplash because it was the absolute wrong material for the job. I sooooo appreciate this. Many people would have just installed the backsplash so they could charge more time on the job and not care that it rotted out in 2 or 3 years. The vanity is sealed properly now, and I can get a proper backsplash installed when the tenant needs another repair. TBH really seemed to know what he was doing, got everything fixed quickly and showed a lot of integrity. I plan to use him in 2 months when a tenant is planning to move out of another property. That says it all, doesn't it? I was very happy with his work and give him an excellent rating!

During the pandemic I was fortunate to score an incredibly-priced (so much so I initially thought it was a scam) rent-controlled 1 bedroom apartment in exclusive Pacific Heights (my dream) that just needed a little work to make it shine. I have always loved the appearance of plantation shutters, but living in a rental unit hasn’t made it feasible. I was fortunately able to find shutters from old renovation projects with similar dimensions, but it was a challenge to find someone who was able and willing to re-size them. I even called a contractor to come and give me an estimate, but they just tried to convince me to order new ones and have them installed. I was concerned I purchased shutters and wouldn’t be able to use them. :/ I reached out to Mike due to his reviews. He has the most number of reviews on the platform and a perfect five star rating (something I am always seeking when looking for independent contractors) so I knew I was in good hands. I am quite particular and have high standards and Mike was able to exceed my expectations. He is professional, efficient, and strived to make me completely happy even though I can be pretty picky and often changing my mind or correct minor details. Throughout the project he was patient and had a good attitude which is important even though he hasn’t had any experience doing this kind of project before to which I was appreciative and grateful. I learned Mike is also well-rounded and has experience in many aspects of home renovations. I’m looking into having him re-do my kitchen (hang cabinets and counter), bathroom (install vanity and tile), and refinish the front deck when the weather is better. His rates are reasonable given his professionalism, expertise, and remarkable attention to detail. You will not be disappointed and will save lots of money by having him help complete your home projects instead of hiring a contractor. I am afraid he will be too popular he won’t be able to help me with my personal projects in the future. :( Being a single female and living alone it’s essential to know a good handyman who can help around the house. He was always professional and I felt comfortable having him working in my home which is important. I wished I would have thought to resort to finding a handyman on the platform before to complete my many home renovation projects. Something as simple as window treatments make such a dramatic difference. I am so happy to have found Mike and wished I would have completed the project much earlier. Even my landlord thought the transformation was unbelievable! Looking forward to having him work on other renter-friendly projects to realize my dream Pacific Heights apartment.
