During the pandemic I was fortunate to score an incredibly-priced (so much so I initially thought it was a scam) rent-controlled 1 bedroom apartment in exclusive Pacific Heights (my dream) that just needed a little work to make it shine. I have always loved the appearance of plantation shutters, but living in a rental unit hasn’t made it feasible. I was fortunately able to find shutters from old renovation projects with similar dimensions, but it was a challenge to find someone who was able and willing to re-size them. I even called a contractor to come and give me an estimate, but they just tried to convince me to order new ones and have them installed. I was concerned I purchased shutters and wouldn’t be able to use them. :/ I reached out to Mike due to his reviews. He has the most number of reviews on the platform and a perfect five star rating (something I am always seeking when looking for independent contractors) so I knew I was in good hands. I am quite particular and have high standards and Mike was able to exceed my expectations. He is professional, efficient, and strived to make me completely happy even though I can be pretty picky and often changing my mind or correct minor details. Throughout the project he was patient and had a good attitude which is important even though he hasn’t had any experience doing this kind of project before to which I was appreciative and grateful. I learned Mike is also well-rounded and has experience in many aspects of home renovations. I’m looking into having him re-do my kitchen (hang cabinets and counter), bathroom (install vanity and tile), and refinish the front deck when the weather is better. His rates are reasonable given his professionalism, expertise, and remarkable attention to detail. You will not be disappointed and will save lots of money by having him help complete your home projects instead of hiring a contractor. I am afraid he will be too popular he won’t be able to help me with my personal projects in the future. :( Being a single female and living alone it’s essential to know a good handyman who can help around the house. He was always professional and I felt comfortable having him working in my home which is important. I wished I would have thought to resort to finding a handyman on the platform before to complete my many home renovation projects. Something as simple as window treatments make such a dramatic difference. I am so happy to have found Mike and wished I would have completed the project much earlier. Even my landlord thought the transformation was unbelievable! Looking forward to having him work on other renter-friendly projects to realize my dream Pacific Heights apartment. I have no reservations in recommending Mike the Handyman. He installed a pair of curtain rods and hung the curtains from them following my instructions; he also lowered a rod and replaced the curtains in the second bedroom. He was quick and professional. He was able to get this done within an hour, but I agreed to a minute of 2 hours…moreover, he came on Christmas Eve! And I only requested services in the morning!

Mike was so quick to respond and worked with the timing of caulking/sealing a window leak before the rain came. He also helped rehung a door that the previous handyman improperly installed. I would definitely hire Mike for future jobs!
