Kira L. says, "I feel lucky finding Chef Ryan! It could not have been a more pleasant first experience hiring a private chef for our intimate bachelorette dinner. He was extremely communicative during the beginning phase when things were very up in the air with my group and we weren’t sure what we needed for our event. Chef Ryan shared options and checked in frequently to make sure we had everything we needed to solidify a booking. Eventually we knew he was the best man for the job, and once we locked him in, he worked with me to fill in the gaps. When it came to the night of the event, he was punctual and prepared. My group’s timeline kept getting pushed back, and because of that, Chef Ryan had to call audibles, which truly shows off his expertise as a professional in the hospitality business. Through his patience, understanding, and ability to pivot quickly, he made us feel special as clients but also as humans who simply can’t control every second of the day. I haven’t even boasted about his cooking skills! He plated as if at a fine dining restaurant, but spoke comfortably with us like we were regulars at a local shop. All the courses were delicious but I must specifically call out his crostini! All the girls could not stop praising it, and even asked for the recipe (which Chef Ryan happily shared). At the end of the experience, Chef Ryan joined us in conversation and we loved swapping stories, learning more about him as a chef and a person. I can’t recommend him enough – if you’re looking for 5 star services, Chef Ryan is the one! (Bonus: he’s a dog lover and gave my pitbull extra love and care, which I particularly appreciated because pitbulls don’t always get love.)"See more

How much do private cooking lessons cost?

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.
