The piano lessons are fantastic. My daughter (16) had 4 years of private lessons prior to starting with Kyle. She enjoyed the lessons and would kind of practice, but with Kyle she loves the piano lessons and has been practicing more than ever. Her previous teacher just kept giving her songs to learn but Kyle is making sure that she picks songs that she WANTS to learn. He encourages her to find the sheet music for the whatever songs she wants and they go through the music together. Kyle then gives her advice on what she can do differently or shows her how to play difficult sections.

I have been studying piano for many years and taken many keyboard classes in college, but Rosa taught me so many important things about piano that I had never been told about before. I am an adult student that has been learning the piano from Susan for about 4 months now, and I am enjoying every lesson thoroughly. Susan is an extremely patient teacher with great experience. I had about 2-3 years experience with western classical music on the piano before beginning my lessons with her, but still had difficulty in sight reading. Susan immediately identified my problem and suggested a method to correct it, and it is working extremely well! She also is very methodical in teaching and this helps tackle difficult pieces with utmost ease. I love the fact that she is very flexible, and gives importance to mastering a piece more than anything else. Loving every bit of my lessons with her!

Hector is truly amazing! It's so wonderful to be inspired by a teacher. His love of music without a doubt seeps into his teaching. I used to play piano as a child and had a variety of different teachers with a variety of different teaching styles. Hector is the best of all. He is patient and listens to my concerns and has a way of imparting his knowledge about coordination in piano that goes beyond technique! I am so happy with my lessons and I would recommend Hector 1000% !!!

Marcus is an incredible teacher with a patient and effective teaching method. In a couple lessons I’m starting to have more fun playing piano than I ever have. I've been taking weekly blues piano lessons for a few months. I was immediately impressed that Hadi is a working blues musician and university music professor. This is a very rare combination that you will not find easily on the Internet. He uses a specific curriculum and provides everything you need. You don't have to buy lesson books. However, he adjusts the material as needed to ensure that students are technically strong in all areas. I appreciated that he did not just go through the motions when my play was mediocre. Rather, he adapted the approach so that I would progress and develop into the best musician I can be. I've had 2 previous piano instructors, but neither had the credentials, knowledge, and experience that Hadi possesses. Lessons are light-hearted, fun, and he is very encouraging. He challenges you to get better and gives you all the tools and information to do so. Then it just is a matter of listening to what he says and practicing as much as possible. Lastly, I'm a full time legal professional, and he has been willing to work around my busy schedule. Highly recommend for anyone serious about learning blues piano!

Madeleine has been giving our 6 year old piano lessons over zoom. I wasn't sure how well this would work, but honestly, our daughter is loving it! (In fact, I think I prefer zoom lessons because I don't have to drive her anywhere!). It's the only zoom extracurricular that my daughter doesn't complain about--and she has learned a lot in just a few months. Madeleine is very patient and low key, which is helpful because our daughter can easily get frustrated. I love seeing my girl learn to love music. Thanks, Madeleine!

Taylor is a fantastic piano teacher and I consider myself extremely fortunate to have found him on Thumbtack. I did a trial lesson with a few teachers online, and Taylor was clearly the right choice. I am an adult, professional woman who studied classical piano through high school and into college. I always wanted to be able to sit down and play anything. Taylor knows how to teach to what you're looking to do. My lessons are all online, and it always amazes me that he cannot see my keyboard - he is going completely by his ear, and he doesn't miss a note! He is very organized and focused. Each week I have technical exercises to strengthen my fingers, theory, and a song or two to work on. It's exactly what I was looking for. Taylor appreciates that I'm doing this for fun, yet holds me accountable so that I can get the results I'm looking for. Last but certainly not least, Taylor is a really lovely person. His passion and devotion to both music and his family are infectious (infectious in a good way!). Spending that hour online each week with Taylor gets me outside my little bubble, and I think if we all did that more, this would be a much better world!
