Abbas T. says, "Jeff Dewine is superb, you are a lucky if you can work with him. He gave private guitar lessons to my two boys and myself and he was phenomenal. My kids are 7 and 10 and I am in my fifties, all starting from absolute zero. He had to teach three different styles, but he is made for this. He is extremely patient with the kids and always encouraging, and he is quick to adapt his teaching method and language to the student. He is an accomplished musician and I know that I am a pretty slow student, but he never makes me feel dumb or guilty. He always finds something you are doing right, and builds on that. He is also very responsive and generous with his time and he goes above and beyond to make sure you get the help that you need, even outside of his teaching schedule. First off, He has all the skills that you’d expect in any good teacher - patience, professionalism, communication, attentiveness, adaptability, etc. But more importantly, he has an insane level of knowledge and wisdom that I’ve never come across before in any other music teacher (including in professional music schools). The fundamental ideas and techniques that I’ve been learning from him have completely elevated my skill and interest in the guitar, and music in general. I’ve never considered myself particularly musically-inclined, but now I can envision a future where I’m an actual talented, respected bass player (if I practice, of course).
