FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My fees are cost effective for two or more pets in a household, for animals who can't or shouldn't be boarded, and for multiple species households. I don't nickel and dime people. Whether you need the vegetable garden watered, certain pieces of mail forwarded to you, tradesmen met at the house or medication for the animals at specific times, it's all included. The exception to my fee structure is if you need manual labor like stall cleaning for horses; that will usually be $10 per stall.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We chat on the phone to discuss your needs. If I feel I can do and be what you need, then we schedule a free in-home consultation. I use forms as a way to check in with everything you and your pets might need, from how much, what and when to feed, to emergency contacts, and where the broom and vacuum are kept. I then email the forms to you for your review and we go from there. A few days prior to your time away, we share access information like keys and alarm codes. While you're away, I keep you updated with photos and stories. If you'll be out of the country, we can use the free WhatsApp and email to stay in touch.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have tended horses, cats and dogs for decades. I'm always open to learning. I am not a vet! I say this often because I am in a position to offer some insight, but I am not a vet! I have taken numerous dog training classes. I believe in positive reinforcement because it works. I observe, research, engage professionals and continue to learn.
