The 2025 schedule is now being set.
Communication:
Mondays are the administrative day. Wednesday evenings all new emails from that week will receive a response.
Introduction:
Hello. My name is Adam. I am a degree certified horticulturist and installation artist specializing in the personal home garden. Coupling an MFA with a BASc in Horticulture along with 2 decades of practical experience in an empathetic collaborative process I create personal home gardens that align with the aesthetics of the individual client.
EDT Gardening is a holistic, organic and emissions free gardening practice that serves the Seattle metro area.
Why no pictures? My clients have right to privacy. What any new potential client needs to know going into a relationship with a contractor is, communication, reliability, will the job be completed; and, will they be satisfied with their investment? Pictures do not convey that message. Word of mouth and reviews are what matter. Every client is individual in their aesthetic. Over 80% of my current client base is from word of mouth.
With all clients, personal feelings are kept in the back pocket. This is your space, your home, your garden and collaborating with you to define the aesthetic of your garden is my role. The pragmatic goal is to maximize your investment in your garden for the short and long term. The ideal is to exceed your expectations with your piece of Earth.
Consistency and routine are the keystones to any garden. A schedule of a sustainable number of clients is created annually to ensure quality of service. These schedules are dependent on the client and their goals for the garden that particular year.
The routines are bimonthly, monthly and seasonal. The gardening season begins the first week of March and runs through to the end of October. November and December the schedule is reduced. January and February are months dedicated to hardscaping and an on call basis.
Once a client has determined their goals a personal schedule for the season is established with days and dates. Each client knows exactly their base gardening budget as soon as the season begins in March.
Installations are done on a collaborative basis and are well planned. They do take time. The unique feature that all gardens have in common, regardless of size, is they all take a minimum of 3 years to establish themselves into a space. Plants need to adapt to nutrition of the soil, the watering and the natural light wherever they are planted.
With that in mind a client can take a fixed budge, prioritize investment as well as create a seasonal plan that stays within their budget to achieve their gardening goals.
Invoicing is transparent and the gardening budget is compartmentalized for the clients convenience.
EDT Gardening charges strictly for time and labor hours. Invoicing is done after the work is accomplished.
The per labor hour rate is:
$55 per labor hour.
The minimum charge:
House: $220
Condo: $165
Hauling and waste removal is done utilizing the clients city yard waste removal bins.
Any job no matter how big or small will require a 1/2 day commitment.
Routines are built in 4 hour blocks and set to specific days each month.
Bimonthly clients=$440
Monthly clients=$220
Seasonal or one time=$220 minimum
*Condos= $165 per visit.
Materials such as irrigation materials, hardscaping, plants or any other gardening needs are purchased directly by the client from that vendor. This is to give the client total control of their investment.
I will personally go to the vendor, nursery and create the purchase order. Once that order is ready the necessary contact information is relayed to the client for review of cost and then purchase.
The most valuable commodity is reputation, the most valuable asset is word of mouth. With every new potential client there is a preliminary no charge on site discussion that averages 45 minutes to see if the practice fits the needs. Not all gardeners are for everybody. Every client has their own individual expectations and aesthetic. Attention must be paid to those boundaries. The universal expectation is a client satisfied with their investment and their garden.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Warmest Regards
Adam
If you request a direct lead please keep this in mind. All requests will receive a response as soon as the schedule permits. Thank you for your patience
