FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
*Lessons- I charge $75 per lesson (usually around an hour) unless the student demonstrates both a need for financial assistance and a strong desire to learn, in which case we work out a payment system on a case-by-case basis. Destination lessons at students' houses are available as well with an added travel fee. *Bands- The fees vary greatly from band to band and date to date. Contact me for more info.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
*Teaching- I first learn about where the student is coming from musically. Then I work on discovering their learning styles and tailor my teaching to the needs of the student. The goal is to make lessons both enjoyable and effective. *Bands- If you're looking for a band and it fits within the realm of what any of my groups specialize in, we'll get in contact and work out details in a friendly, professional manner.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Aside from graduating from Berklee College of Music, I regularly perform between 5 and 8 times per week around the Seattle area across many different styles of music. This keeps me sharp and focused and provides me with new material to pass on to my students. I also travel for music and do my best to learn about various ways of playing and thinking about music from around the world.
