Introduction

Offering private music lessons online: Flute, Recorder, Piano & Music Composition ***Please note I am not accepting new students until October 2024.*** I am both a professional musician and a professional educator, with a current Vermont state educator’s license for teaching music to preK-12th grade students. I have spent the last 14 years teaching music, chorus, band and adaptive music in public schools; before that I spent many years performing professionally as a flutist and teaching flute, piano and voice students of all ages. I hold a Master’s of Education from the University of New Hampshire, a Master’s of Instrumental Performance from Bowling Green State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Messiah College. I love teaching music and learning alongside my students! I believe music instruction should be accessible to everyone, and celebrate and embrace diversity in all its forms. I strive to be anti-racist, an LGBTQIA+ ally, and am always working to expand my understanding and implementation of neurodivergent-affirming practices.

We will first have a free virtual meeting or phone call to discuss what the student is looking for in lessons or classes, as well as my studio policies.

I have two music performance degrees and a master's in education. I also have 23 years experience teaching in public and private settings, and professional experience as a performer.
