FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We believe in complete transparency, so I'll start with our base service call fee of $85, which covers the initial diagnostic visit. This fee is waived if you proceed with the recommended repairs during the same visit. For most common repairs, we offer flat-rate pricing rather than hourly rates. This means you'll know the exact cost before we begin work – no surprises. For example, fixing a standard leaky faucet would be a flat $165, which includes parts and labor. We provide free written estimates for all jobs, and these estimates are valid for 30 days. For larger projects like bathroom remodels or water heater installations, we break down all costs in detail, including materials, labor, and permits if required. Emergency services outside regular business hours (after 6 PM or weekends) do carry a higher rate – typically a 1.5x premium on our standard rates. However, we'll always inform you of this upfront. We offer a 10% senior citizen and military discount, and we run seasonal specials, particularly for preventive maintenance services. We also provide a 5% discount for booking annual maintenance plans. All major credit cards are accepted, and for larger projects over $1000, we offer flexible financing options through our partnership with [financing company]. Every job comes with a 90-day labor warranty, and we honor all manufacturer warranties on parts and fixtures we install.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I start with a phone conversation to understand your plumbing concern. I'll ask specific questions about what you're experiencing - whether it's a leak, drainage issue, installation need, or something else. This helps me gauge the urgency and prepare appropriately. When I arrive at your home, I always present my credentials and wear shoe covers to protect your floors. I'll ask to see the problem area and listen carefully to any additional details you can provide about when the issue started or what you've already tried. Before doing any work, I perform a thorough inspection and diagnosis. For example, if you're having drainage issues, I might use a camera scope to check your pipes for clogs or damage. I then explain exactly what I've found in clear, non-technical terms and provide you with options for repair, along with transparent pricing for each option. I never start any work without your explicit approval of both the solution and the cost. During the repair, I protect your home by laying down drop cloths and take care to clean up completely when finished. I then test everything to ensure the problem is fully resolved and walk you through what was done. I finish by providing a detailed invoice and warranty information for the work performed, along with any maintenance recommendations to prevent future issues.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I stay current with industry developments by continuing education annually, focusing on new technologies and energy-efficient systems. For instance, I recently completed training in tankless water heater installation and smart home plumbing integration. I'm also OSHA safety certified and regularly attend manufacturer training sessions to stay up-to-date with the latest plumbing fixtures and equipment. This helps me provide the most current solutions for my customers.
