The owner has moved to Texas and is operating on autopilot. Just disappointing all around. I liked the idea of an “all in” price that included 10 years of warranty and annual service. It has been a month and my system still isn’t working properly. Every time they come to “fix” it they end up leaving it worse off. Installation was a nightmare: they dig up the yard before two straight days of rain so it was just a mud hole. Then needed to turn off the water for the house “for 2 hours” that turned into 21 hours with NO WATER and worse, kept me in the dark as to the severity of the problem so I couldn’t make arrangements to board my dogs and get a hotel. Then they let me with a busted controller. Came back to fix that and the WiFi controls broke. Still haven’t been back to fix that. The yard is terrible - did a poor job filling in the trenches and I have rolled my ankles several times trying to walk around. I had to bug them to lay down the grass seed that I paid extra for! And then they got rude with me when I had the nerve to point out how unprofessional the whole experience has been. The only thing they have done quickly and efficiently is cash my checks.

We recently had our sprinkler system installed by Wood’s Landscape and Sprinkler Service and I would not recommend this company to perform any services. I will keep it brief and factual, as to ensure the details are credible and to keep any information supporting future legal proceedings, protected. The “system” was installed on March 16, 2021. Appropriately, prior to beginning work, Miss Utility was contacted to ensure none of the underground utilities were obstructed. The yard was properly marked before work began and Wood’s Landscaping began work that morning as well. Later that morning, while teleworking from home, all of my connections to the internet we interrupted. I had gone out to the yard to find that the Verizon line to the house was cut. For 24 hours, I used a backup “hot spot” to continue working. Verizon placed a temporary line across my yard and my neighbor’s and it stayed there for three weeks until they could schedule their contractor to trench it back to the hub. The machine the company uses to install the PVC tubing for the in-ground sprinklers guarantees significant damage to your yard (pics provided). There are companies that have newer machines that cut the sod and leave no trace of installation. My neighbor used one and his yard looks as if no one was ever there. It behooves you to ask the question upfront. In fact, now more than a month later and after professional landscaping intervention from another company, the yard is just now showing signs of healing. Moving on to the actual installation, the back flow preventer was installed improperly and the water and sewer authority that tests the preventer, to ensure your potable water is not tainted by the chemicals, waste, or other from your yard, does not make it back into your drinking water was never contacted for initial testing or inspection. For an entire month, I could’ve killed my family or made them ill because there was a chance the fertilizer and anything else from the yard, made its way back into our drinking water. The WSSC inspector informed me of this and noted that the improper installation could’ve made the neighboring homes sick as well. It is a requirement that, in the state of Maryland (Prince George’s County), that the backflow preventer is tested and inspected by WSSC Water. WSSC Water (the local water and sewer authority) was never contacted at any point in the process by Wood’s Landscape and Sprinkler Service. Fast forward, I had a haunch that plumbing in the interior of my home, connected to our main water service was incorrect/shoddy. The plumbing for the sprinkler system was tapped at the wrong side, affecting our pressure regulator, causing water pressure in our home to drop, while the sprinkler system was in use. There were a host of other issues that has to be corrected, but for the sake of time, do yourself a favor and research other companies that will not only provide a quality product, but adhere to local and state standards and laws. In all, Mr. Wood has been responsive but refuses to take ownership of the issue, be ethical, and provide a reasonable and fair solution. I have since hired a master plumber reinstall everything from inside the home, exiting the house, and a new backflow preventer. Basically, I hired someone to undo and redo the plumbing. It has been tested, inspected, and passed by WSSC. The Plumbing Inspector for WSSC is also going to contact the company regarding the process and any infractions from WSSC, the county, and/or the state will be handled independently. Due to my experiences, I strongly recommend looking past Wood’s for any services.

Work was not clean, they left all the wholes the with out covering it. They came in about 2 months after for my winterization request. Had I waited for them, all of my sprinkler pipes would have broken for the freezing winter.

Contacted for a quote. We had an exterior water line added from the house a couple years ago. Due to it now being a completely new install vendor would not support and offered no recommendations for other contractors. Given the amount of competition and positive reviews the lack of interest is surprising.
