if you are a home owner and looking for a management company, I highly recommend you do not use Nesbitt. Also, if you are looking to rent property and Nesbitt is the management company, I recommend looking elsewhere. The main point of contact in the Alexandria VA area is Stewart and he is unresponsive, disrespectful and inexperienced. Why? Here are a few examples: 1. I signed a lease for a year and Stewart did not tell me that the townhome was simultaneously under contract to be sold, luckily the new owner did not like his services and decided to terminate Nesbitt management services 2. Prior to the official sale date, Stewart scheduled a contractor to visit the property while I was home alone, he did not tell me the contractor was coming and even gave him the keys! 3. Stewart is the owner's son, any complaints made fall on deaf ears. 4. A couple of my friends had worse experiences with their townhomes while working with Stewart. Hope this info helps others and prevents future problems!

We hired Nesbitt Realty 2 years ago to manage our townhouse in Alexandria, and have been very happy with the service. Stuart Nesbitt has been very responsive and helpful during our recent turnover of tenants, and also last year managed the replacement of our AC unit. Within four days he had the house painted and new carpet installed as we were preparing for our tenants move in. He has helped find contractors and obtained multiple quotes on repairs, and responds very quickly to our communications asking for updates and information on the status of our property. We have been extremely pleased with the service Stuart has provided, and have recommended him to multiple friends.

Unfortunately businesses ask their friends and family to go out and write reviews to present well. I have no idea how this company would rate a 4.5 out of 5 stars. Honestly there is nothing good to write about Will the owner and his son Stuart. Kim is very pleasant and understands people. My mom and I have been homeowners all of our lives and are attentive to every detail. We rented a condo from Nesbitt that had huge holes in the wall and kitchen cabinets that needed painting. We knew that upfront and made the repairs because we wanted our home to look as nice as was possible. Every time we spoke or emailed with Will or Stuart we were threatened with "you're going to jeopardize your security deposit" and they were always threatening something. Certainly not what we had anticipated as previous home owners. Needless to say our entire deposit was returned because the condo presented better than it did when we moved in. We also moved in around 8:30 p.m. and the key would not work so we called them but no one returned the call. In desperation we contacted a locksmith who gained access for us and his charge was $175. Nesbitt WOULD NOT reimburse us for that expense. I would go anywhere else to lease a property but here. We moved out only because they were such a bear to deal with.
