FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It depends on the type of class and how many students. My standard fee is $100/hour which includes driving to the students or the Webster studio rental fee. If choreography is needed such as for weddings or an audition piece, there is a small one time choreography fee since I do the work outside of instruction time. For parties I charge $10 per person with a minimum of 10 people. In this case I lead fun dances and do not provide individual instruction.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to know what type of music and movement the customer likes and what exactly they are wanting to achieve. I also find out a time period before the performance if applicable so I will know how often to meet with the customer for instruction.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began taking dance classes at the age of 2 with Isabel McKenna after which I studied with Ruth Elgin. I took tap, ballet, pointe, and jazz. I was in the Ball High School Tornettes Drill Team and was a drill team officer under the direction of Barbara Crow. I have a Bachelors in Performing Arts Dance from Oklahoma City University under the direction of Jo Rowan. I danced in The American Spirit Dance Company, Discovery Dance Group, The Carl Siberon Dancers, and Act I Liturgical Company. I have danced in many musicals including "A Chorus Line," "Chicago," "Carnival," "How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying," and others. I have choreographed quite a few musicals including "Grease," "42nd Street," and "Spamalot." I have worked in films, TV, and commercials. I was a dancer in a Spanish film "The Marianoa Kid." I was a stand in for Lauren German who was the lead in "Love and Mary." I placed 16th in a worldwide tap competition judged by Charles "Honi" Coles, Savion Glover, Brenda Buffalino, and Lynn Daly. I have taken master classes with many top tap dancers including Brenda Buffalino and Acia Gray.
