FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I ask for 50% of the cost upfront and 50% when the client is satisfied and everything has been delivered and installed. I work on a per project basis, not on shop time. My pricing is set up to allow clients to dream big as the project unfolds. Within reason, I love making the finishing touches that bring the wow factor.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually start by seeking to understand the kinds of problems they’re seeking to solve. Pictures help a great deal. Because every piece is completely custom, I make sure they understand every aspect of the design and the build. I think of myself as a teacher primarily, and educating clients about their options is a big way of making sure needs are met.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I’m self taught. But I come from a long line of tinkerers and engineers. My great grandfather taught in a trade school and my grandfather built his own house. I like to think I’m carrying on the tradition of these brilliant men.
