FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is based on your needs and will vary by the number of specific shots needed, number of locations, total amount of time involved, and the deliverables requested (i.e. physical prints or digital files).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I speak with all new customers to discuss their needs and what specifically they want to capture. Together we determine what shots are wanted, the look and feel, locations, etc. Some clients know exactly what they want and that's what I give them, sometimes adding my own touches. But many clients are unsure of what they want beyond just getting a picture taken. I love advising clients like this who need help determining how they want their photos to look. In these situations I try to really understand the subject's personality and create a look and style that nails it. That takes a lot more than just showing up and posing someone. It takes thought and creativity, as well as great communication with the client.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've had an SLR camera stuck to my face since I was 13 years old. I learned in high school how to compose compelling images, process my own negatives and develop prints in the darkroom. Back then you only had one chance to get it right! I studied photojournalism in college for two years before graduating with my degree in journalism/advertising.
