FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start with new clients by answering any questions they have and then asking my own questions so I can be clear on their expectations. Once the day and time for the session have been confirmed I check in with my clients prior to the job to make sure nothing has changed and, for outdoor shoots, also check the weather forecast to see if it's necessary to reschedule due to rain. With the help of a fantastic business management app I use called 17Hats I offer a very streamlined and user-friendly process for taking care of client questionnaires, invoices and contracts, all of which can be easily completed online. Following the shoot, I follow up with my clients to thank them for their time and I deliver the final, fully-edited images for their enjoyment within a timely manner.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been studying photography for nearly 30 years which includes formal training at Portfolio Center in Atlanta as well as photojournalism classes at The University of Georgia. My primary education, however, comes from the decade+ of working as a professional photographer photographing people and events in many different circumstances and conditions. The one thing that is always the same, though, is that my clients want someone who is easy to work with and who always delivers exceptional images and service.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always enjoyed the challenge and adventure of photography and the way it helps me see and connect with the people and surroundings I encounter. I love the way I lose myself in the moment and find myself at the same time by being fully present and creating work I love. I also love being able to give my clients a visual reminder of the joy they've experienced with the people they love the most...something they often treasure more with each passing year. It's beautiful to me.
