Hello! I’m Athena Nicolaides, certified personal trainer, fitness enthusiast, food lover and mom of two! I have 10+ years of weight lifting experience and have decided to turn my passion for fitness and strength training into a career. I made the choice to become a personal trainer because I wanted to use my own experiences to help others achieve their goals. From my own struggles with chronic pain related to piriformis syndrome, sciatica, hypermobility and pelvic floor dysfunction, I have discovered the importance of staying active, lifting weights and eating healthy.
When I was in my 20’s I focused mainly on cardio and when I decided to join a gym to try strength training, I was so intimated that I quit shortly after. Several years later and during my second pregnancy, I was left struggling to walk due to low back and leg pain. The cardio I used to rely on as exercise in the past would no longer be an option. I needed to find another way.
Determined to move forward despite my limitations, I started my own simplistic strength training regimen at home with very limited resources. As I progressed and gained more experience, we built our in-home gym to help take my workouts to the next level.
I am eager to share my knowledge and experience with you and help you become the best version of yourself. My main goal is to help you realize YOUR full potential! I will work with you to develop healthy and sustainable habits to improve your overall fitness and well-being, no matter where you are on your journey. I like to make training fun and approachable, especially for those that are new and intimidated by strength training and maybe aren’t sure where to begin!
