FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to start on the inside if I can. Remove the screens, clean the inside glass, plus tracks and frames if the customer asks. Then I clean the exterior of the windows along with the exterior frames and ledges. Then I will wash and dry the screens, then reinstall them.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a member of the IWCA (international window cleaning association) they do training in technique, tools and equipment, and safety training. I’ve been to many of their annual conferences and training sessions.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I used to own a failing retail business. I needed to pivot into something new and i stumbled into window cleaning. The guy we paid to do our store front windows didn’t do a very good job. I thought I could do better and it seemed he was making decent money. So I started getting my feet wet doing a few small jobs here and there. Before I knew it I was a full time window cleaner. I shut down the brick and mortar store and never looked back.
