Barbara D. says, "This is a family business where the father and sons work together with other helpers. I really enjoy working with a family business where a craft is being passed down. They did a great job installing new laminate in my kitchen, which required removing the old counters, building new ones, and fixing the holes where the old backsplash came off down to lath and plaster when the old laminate was removed. They installed really nice edges which I had not thought of which matched the style and tone of the kitchen. It was better than I planned. They arrived on time each day, cleaned up their mess at the end of the day, and were polite and clean. I felt they respected me and my old house.
In any project in such old house there will be wrinkles. In this job, the backsplash removal damaged the walls, and the old sink surround got messed up when they took it out. The company took responsibility for the sink and gave me a new one for free, and also gave me an oral bid for the work on the backsplash.
My only criticism was that the original bid included a zero cost for the laminate itself, so the bid was not inclusive. They also did not use this platform to send a revised bid. The email with the revised bid never reached me, so I had sticker shock when the $3400 estimate wound up being considerably more. This was not intentional on their part. They adjusted the bill because of their error. I would happily use this company again because they worked with me to make the overall cost fair in light of the hard work they put in. They are polite, skilled, and timely workers who will work out problems with you amicably as such always happen in jobs with old houses!"See more
