- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $75.00 an hour for my labor cost for hourly work. Fixed price projects are bid with the same hourly rate.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Generally I will talk with a new customer over Thumbtack messenger or on the phone first to see if there project is a good fit and then I will come out and give an estimate. For smaller projects I tend to simply work on a time and material basis and for larger projects over 2,500 I will give a fixed quote and draw up a contract.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been working in residential remodeling for over twenty years. I have worked in San Diego, Maine, Boston, and Portland. I have done just about everything in the building trades from frame to finish. My strongest and most unique skills are in fine finish work i.e. finish carpentry and tile setting and that is the main focus of my business.
