Colleen did great job refinishing 2 desks. They look beautiful. She was extremely response to my email inquires, timely with pick up and delivery and I thought her prices were very competitive. I'd strongly recommend her to anyone looking to refinish a cherished piece of wood furniture.

I moved up to Portland and didn't know anyone to refinish my grandmothers table and chairs. The table is from my maternal grandmother and the chairs from my paternal grandmother, both very special. I never used Thumbtack either but since I didn't know where to begin to find a good furniture finishing person I gave it a go. Colleen from Against the Grain Finishing company was the only people to respond to my request. I liked Colleen from her emails and decided to go see her with my table. I'm so glad I did, the work is amazing. The table is a bear claw that had been painted white multiple times and Colleen and Rick were able to bring it back to the wood while maintaining all the details on the legs. The chairs were not painted but one of them was split on the seat and they were both a bit wobbly and now they are perfect. Plus they matched the stain on the chairs and table. I really couldn't be happier. I will be keeping their contact information for the future and would recommend them to anyone. I never met Rick but Colleen is a very nice sweet lady and you can tell she loves how she makes a living.
